Latifah A. Hameen, who is a native of Wisconsin, has resided in Texas for the past 20 years.  She is a victorious survivor of domestic violence. After many years in abusive relationships, she broke the cycle of abuse and published her first book telling her story in 2006.  In 2007, she created Healthy Positive Choices. This is a 501(c)3  non-profit organization which is used as a preventive tool to educate teens and young adults on the dangers of domestic violence.
 
Ms Hameen is the author of 7 books. In her 1st book, she shared her life in and out of abusive relationships and in the 2nd one, she explained the role she played in the abuse. In the 3rd book, which is poetry, she reached deep within and expressed her  emotions as  they related to her struggles and successes or those closest to her. The 4th book is a workbook, whereby, she uses in her workshops to educate teens and adults on the cycle of abuse. She outlines red flags characteristics of abusers, state various forms of abuse, and how to escape it. She offers tools on rebuilding self-esteem. In the 5th book, she exposed the abuse and demonstrates how the covers can be removed. She offers tips and suggestions for getting out and moving on to building healthier relationships. In Ms. Hameen's 6th book, she discusses how she transformed her life and made a full-circle from domestic abuse to creating healthy relationships. In her 7th book, she published a comprehensive book on domestic violence awareness specifically for HPC certification training. 
  
Latifah Hameen was among the awardees for her contributions to womanhood "We Speak Your Name" by the South Central District and The Greater North Dallas BPW Club on March 7, 2o15.

 Ms. Hameen was awarded and recognized in the area of "civic" by Women of Faith, DFW on November 8, 2014 for her work in educating teens and adults on relationship abuse awareness and promoting healthy relationships.

Ms. Hameen was on KTXDTV channel 47, The Broadcast TV on January 3, 2014, whereby, she spoke on a 5 minute segment concerning contents in her new book, Abuse Awareness:  Removing the Cover.    It was released in December 2013.
 
Ms. Hameen was awarded “Woman of the Year” in May, 2012 by the South Central Dallas National Association of Business and Professional Women, for her work in helping to “stamp out” domestic violence. She is an honored member in the 2012 edition of  Biltmore Who’s Who registry of Executives and Professionals.  She has had several articles written on her story of abuse and   accomplishments by Isahah Janette Grant of the Houston Examiner in 2010, 2011 and the latest one on September 11, 2012.
 
Ms. Hameen lectures and implements a variety of educational workshops and seminars on domestic violence awareness. She is also available to travel for public speaking events. She has a passion for the work she does, at the same, gives back to community while making a contribution toward an effort to a healthier and better society.
